Brandes Small Cap Value Fund adds Campbell’s to its 2026 picks
The fund’s Q2 2026 letter cited industrial and energy holdings as key drivers, while new buying included The Campbell’s Company after its July 24 close at $21.84.
Brandes Investment Partners highlighted its Q2 2026 performance in a new investor letter for the Brandes Small Cap Value Fund, noting the fund lagged the Russell 2000 Index in the quarter but outpaced the Russell 2000 Value Index year to date.
According to the investor letter, Q2 performance was supported mainly by holdings in the industrial sector, including aerospace and defense, as well as energy. The fund’s underperformance was attributed to holdings and an underweight position in the information technology sector.
The firm also pointed to value stocks as still attractive, citing attractive valuations and strong free cash flow generation. In the letter, it flagged a new purchase of The Campbell’s Company (NASDAQ: CPB), a US-based packaged food company.
The article said Campbell’s closed at $21.84 per share on July 24, 2026, valuing the company at $6.51 billion. It also reported Campbell’s one-month return of -5.08% and a -32.26% decline over the past 52 weeks.
