Chipotle lifts same-store sales outlook after cyclospora-related concerns
The company said fears about cyclospora illness weighed on sales in late July, even as it raised its same-store sales forecast.
Chipotle Mexican Grill said it has increased its same-store sales forecast, attributing earlier sales pressure in late July to customer concerns about cyclospora.
CNBC Markets reports the stock has fallen more than 7% this year, putting the company’s market value at roughly $44 billion.
The update reflects Chipotle’s effort to look past that late-July demand disruption while resetting expectations for same-store performance going forward.
