Fed holds federal funds rate steady at 3.5% to 3.75%
The FOMC voted to maintain the federal funds target range at 3.5% to 3.75%, and reaffirmed its approach of maintaining ample reserves in the banking system.
CNBC Finance reviewed changes in the Fed’s second statement under Gov. Warsh by comparing Wednesday’s Federal Open Market Committee communication with the prior statement issued after the Fed’s previous policymaking meeting in June.
Separately, Mortgage News Daily summarized the Fed statement’s decision, saying the FOMC approved a target range for the federal funds rate of 3.5% to 3.75% to support the Fed’s dual mandate.
In the same statement, the FOMC reaffirmed it is continuing its policy of maintaining ample reserves in the banking system, and noted that economic activity is expanding at a solid pace.
