Microsoft tops Q4 cloud expectations as Azure revenue exceeds $100B
The company said its cloud backlog rose 8% quarter over quarter, driven largely by customers beyond major AI-focused firms.
Microsoft reported quarterly results that beat expectations for its cloud business, with full-year Azure revenue topping $100 billion, according to CNBC Markets and CNBC Earnings.
In the same update, Microsoft said its cloud backlog increased 8% from the prior quarter, attributing the rise largely to contributions from customers other than large artificial intelligence companies.
CNBC World also highlighted the backlog gain as a key factor behind the cloud beat, pointing to broader customer participation in Azure demand rather than concentration in just a few major AI players.
