Bunge net income jumps 91% as soy and softseed boost profits
Bunge raised its fiscal 2026 adjusted EPS forecast to a $9.25 to $9.75 range after reporting $678 million net income for the quarter ended June 30.
Bunge Global SA reported a sharp turnaround in earnings, with net income surging 91% to $678 million, or $3.47 per share, for the quarter ended June 30, according to World Grain. The company said the quarter reflected stronger results across its soybean and softseed processing and refining businesses, alongside improving market conditions.
The company’s adjusted total EBIT increased to $665 million from $293 million in the prior-year period, while overall net sales rose 88% to $24.04 billion from $12.77 billion in the fiscal 2025 quarter. World Grain said the stronger earnings and outlook prompted Bunge to lift its forecast for fiscal 2026 adjusted EPS to $9.25 to $9.75, up from its prior range of $9 to $9.50.
In its Soybean Processing and Refining unit, World Grain reported adjusted segment EBIT of $445 million, up 46% from $304 million a year earlier. Net sales climbed 56% to $12.07 billion as soybean processing volumes increased 24% to 11.524 million tonnes from 9.304 million tonnes.
Bunge also posted a major rebound in its Softseed Processing and Refining unit, with adjusted segment EBIT reaching $255 million, up from $14 million a year ago. World Grain said net sales increased 167% to $4.1 billion, driven by a 79% rise in softseed processing volumes to 3.49 million tonnes from 1.947 million tonnes, with results higher across all regions for the second straight quarter.
