Samsung posts record profits, but investors remain skeptical

The company’s results came as investors weighed ongoing memory supply constraints, relentless demand, and concerns about AI capex durability and lower-cost competition from China.

Samsung reported record-setting profits, but investors have not fully rewarded the stock, according to MarketWatch.

The outlet noted that supply constraints for Samsung’s memory chips remain severe while demand is still strong, particularly as AI-related demand continues to drive the memory market.

Even so, MarketWatch said investors are skeptical about how long the AI capex boom will last and whether cheaper chips from China could pressure Samsung’s pricing and margins.

The combination of tight supply and ongoing demand has not eased concerns around competitive risk and the durability of AI-driven spending, MarketWatch added.
