Live Nation says ticket sales are at record levels despite cancellation talk

Live Nation, the parent company of Ticketmaster, pushed back on online chatter suggesting high-profile tour cancellations reflect weakening demand for live events, saying ticket sales are actually at record levels, according to MarketWatch.

The company indicated that artists are not cutting back on touring any more than usual, despite public reports and speculation about empty seats.

MarketWatch said the comments came as social media discussion amplified concerns about cancelled shows and attendance, but Live Nation characterized the situation as inconsistent with current ticket sales data.
