SBI Funds Management Q1 profit rises 3.3% as equity inflows hold steady
Standalone profit after tax for the June quarter increased to ₹873 crore, while quarterly average AUM grew 11% year over year to ₹12.6 trillion.
SBI Funds Management reported standalone profit after tax of ₹873 crore for the June quarter, up 3.3% from ₹845 crore in the year-ago period, marking its first quarterly earnings announcement since its July 21 listing, according to LiveMint Markets.
The company said performance was supported by equity and passive inflows, alongside continued strength in systematic investment plan, or SIP, contributions. Even with weak overall market sentiment, retail confidence remained resilient as foreign institutional investors continued to pull billions of dollars from Indian equities.
SBI Funds Management’s quarterly average assets under management, or QAAUM, rose 11% year over year to ₹12.6 trillion, helping it maintain its position as India’s largest mutual fund manager with a 15.1% market share. Actively managed equity QAAUM grew 10% to ₹8.6 trillion, while passive QAAUM increased 12% to ₹4 trillion, retaining a 27.4% market share in passive funds.
At the operating level, operating profit increased 17% year over year to ₹907 crore, and profit after tax rose 37% sequentially. Total AUM for the alternate assets segment stood at ₹16.5 trillion during the quarter, with AIF QAAUM rising 29% year over year to around ₹6,800 crore, and SIP AUM climbing 15% year over year to ₹2 trillion. The company also reported unique customers rising 12% year over year to 1.82 crore, and total live folios increasing 14% to 2.2 crore as of June 30, 2026.
