U.S. joins Japan in joint intervention to support the yen
Japan’s Ministry of Finance said the U.S. Treasury and the Federal Reserve joined Japanese authorities in the intervention to strengthen the yen.
The U.S. Treasury Department and the Federal Reserve have joined forces with Japanese counterparts in what Japan’s Ministry of Finance described as a historic joint intervention aimed at boosting the yen, MarketWatch reported.
Japan’s Ministry of Finance confirmed the move in a statement released Monday, indicating the coordinated effort by both countries’ authorities.
