Ather Energy shares surge after June quarter profit turnaround

Revenue rose 89% year on year to ₹1,217 crore, while operating EBITDA loss narrowed to ₹33 crore versus ₹69.9 crore in the prior quarter.

Ather Energy Ltd’s June quarter results helped lift the company’s stock, with the shares jumping about 15% on Tuesday after the company showed faster revenue growth and sharply lower operating losses, according to LiveMint Markets.

For Q1FY27, Ather reported revenue up 89% year on year to ₹1,217 crore, driven by an 81% rise in vehicle deliveries to 83,173 units. The company said that, including other income, it posted an EBITDA profit, but excluding other income the EBITDA loss narrowed to ₹33 crore from ₹69.9 crore in Q4FY26 and from ₹134 crore in Q1FY26.

LiveMint Markets also noted that Ather’s EBITDA margin, excluding other income, improved for the fifth consecutive quarter. The company said retail demand stayed strong, outpacing industry registration growth, and that dealer inventory was reduced from 14 days to three days, pointing to a need for wholesale dispatches to better align with retail.

Ather is preparing for expansion funded by a ₹1,000 crore investment from Hero MotoCorp and an additional ₹1,300 crore raised through a QIP. The first phase of its Aurangabad Industrial City facility is scheduled for Q4FY27, with annual capacity expected to increase from 4.2 lakh units to 9.2 lakh units, while an EL platform slated to debut later this month is intended to support its mass market push.
