SpaceX boosts Tesla Megapack orders to power AI data centers

SpaceX is drawing on Tesla Megapack backup batteries for its Colossus AI data centers in Greater Memphis, according to CNBC Markets.

SpaceX has increased purchases of Tesla Megapack backup batteries as part of the power setup for its Colossus AI data centers, CNBC Markets reports.

The outlet says the ramp took place in the second quarter as SpaceX pulled on Tesla’s large-scale energy storage products to support operations in Greater Memphis.

CNBC Markets also links the Megapack purchases to the data center buildout, positioning the batteries as a way to provide backup power for the AI infrastructure.
