Snap shares jump after ad growth lifts second-quarter revenue and outlook
Snap reported second-quarter revenue of $1.60 billion and guided third-quarter sales to $1.70 billion to $1.74 billion, helped by World Cup-linked marketing spending.
Snap shares rose more than 8% in U.S. pre-market trading after Snap reported second-quarter 2026 revenue ahead of Wall Street expectations and delivered an upbeat outlook for the current quarter, according to Yahoo Finance.
The social media company said quarterly revenue increased to $1.60 billion, exceeding analyst expectations of about $1.54 billion. Snap posted a quarterly loss of $0.10 per share, improving from the same period a year earlier, and noted advertising growth, improving user engagement, and progress on cost-reduction initiatives.
Snap also pointed to increased marketing spending tied to the FIFA World Cup, and said the tournament had generated 20 billion video views across its platforms by the quarter-final stage, according to FIFA. Snap’s premium subscription revenue rose 85% year over year to $316 million, daily active users climbed to 493 million, and monthly active users increased to 971 million.
For the third quarter, Snap forecast revenue of $1.70 billion to $1.74 billion, and projected adjusted EBITDA of between $300 million and $350 million, as reported by Yahoo Finance. The company also continues to expand the use of artificial intelligence and previously announced plans to cut its full-time workforce by around 16%.
