Airbnb shares fall as investors await second-quarter results

Investors are expecting about 16% year-over-year second-quarter revenue growth to roughly $3.58 billion, but guidance and nights booked are likely to be key given the stock near its 52-week high.

Airbnb shares slipped on Thursday as investors looked to the company’s second-quarter earnings report after the close, with traders focused on what management signals for upcoming quarters. At 12:55 p.m. EDT, the Nasdaq-listed stock was down 1.9% to $149.58, after ending Wednesday at $152.49, according to LiveMint Markets.

LiveMint Markets said Wall Street expects Airbnb to deliver roughly 16% second-quarter revenue growth, with consensus calling for about $3.58 billion in revenue. Analysts expect that results meeting consensus may not be enough for a stock that has gained about 15% since the start of the year and is trading close to its 52-week high.

Beyond headline numbers, investors plan to closely monitor growth in nights booked to gauge whether demand stayed strong or whether revenue gains were driven mainly by pricing and an estimated 3% foreign exchange tailwind. The article also highlights that management commentary on future demand and spending discipline is expected to carry more weight than a modest earnings or revenue beat.

LiveMint Markets added that Airbnb previously topped second-quarter 2025 revenue and earnings, but shares fell more than 7% after cautious guidance and margin concerns. The company is also expanding beyond home sharing into Services, Experiences, and hotel bookings, though analysts view those segments as too small to materially lift near-term earnings and will be watching whether they drive repeat engagement across the platform.
