Trump administration again seeks to remove Fed Governor Lisa Cook

A letter from the Trump administration to Gov. Lisa Cook said it was considering taking her off the job after an earlier attempt was blocked by the Supreme Court.

The Trump administration is restarting its effort to remove Federal Reserve Governor Lisa D. Cook, according to a letter sent to her that was covered by The New York Times.

The report says the administration had been rebuffed by the Supreme Court in its first attempt to fire Cook, and the new correspondence states it was considering removing her anyway.

The development highlights continued political pressure around the Fed, with the administration signaling it may pursue another path after the court stopped the earlier one.
