BofA lifts Eli Lilly price target as obesity drug demand looks global
The bank also points to rising international GLP-1 sales, including Mounjaro growth of 55% in Europe, 30% in Japan, and 93% in China last quarter.
Bank of America raised its price objective on Eli Lilly to $1,344 from $1,334, citing an update to the company’s 2027 underlying earnings estimate and an unchanged valuation multiple, according to a BofA Global Research report summarized by Yahoo Finance.
The bank’s view centers on the obesity market outside the United States, where it expects sales to eventually surpass U.S. results for the same GLP-1 medicines. Yahoo Finance said BofA noted international GLP-1 obesity sales are approaching parity with the U.S., supported by Mounjaro growth in multiple regions.
The article also highlights Lilly’s recent performance, including second-quarter revenue of $23.0 billion, up 48% year over year, and adjusted earnings of $8.38 per share versus a $6.01 consensus, as reported by Yahoo Finance.
Lilly also lifted its full-year revenue forecast to $85 billion to $87 billion from a prior $82 billion to $85 billion range. Yahoo Finance added that BofA flagged Foundayo, an obesity pill, as a potential driver, contrasting its $98 million U.S. debut with analyst expectations of about $103 million.
