Hitachi Energy India shares jump after Q1 FY27 profit more than doubles
The company posted Q1 FY27 net profit of ₹294 crore, lifted by revenue growth to ₹2,493.7 crore and orders worth ₹5,096.5 crore that took backlog to a record ₹32,222.1 crore.
Hitachi Energy India shares surged more than 11% on Monday, 10 August, after the company reported a more than twofold increase in net profit for the June quarter of FY27, according to LiveMint Markets. Consolidated net profit rose to ₹294 crore from ₹131.6 crore in the same quarter of the prior fiscal.
The results also showed strong top line growth, with revenue from operations increasing to ₹2,493.7 crore in Q1 FY27 from ₹1,478.9 crore a year earlier. Operational EBITDA stood at ₹399.9 crore, resulting in a double-digit EBITDA margin of 16.0%, as the company emphasized efforts to improve margins and operational efficiency.
Hitachi Energy India said it recorded orders worth ₹5,096.5 crore during the quarter, pushing its order backlog to a record ₹32,222.1 crore. The company linked its performance to robust order inflows and revenue growth tied to energy transition and energy security demand in India and global markets, and said FY27 is expected to bring opportunities in AI data centers, smart grids, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and electric vehicle infrastructure.
Management also pointed to India’s target of 900 GW of non-fossil fuel installed capacity by FY36, expecting renewable energy growth to support demand for a stronger domestic energy manufacturing ecosystem. The company added that it will need collaboration among stakeholders and a level-playing-field policy framework, while noting that prolonged geopolitical tensions could weigh on global economic growth and slow the energy transition.
