Goolsbee calls inflation the biggest problem facing the US economy

Chicago Fed President Austan Goolsbee said inflation is the biggest problem facing the US economy, adding that people “hate inflation,” according to comments shared in a Wired video that FXStreet highlighted.

Goolsbee argued that if consumers remain healthy, the economy can remain healthy as well, and characterized the labor market as stable but not necessarily strong, citing unemployment, hiring, and layoff metrics.
