GE Vernova posts 22% revenue growth but misses adjusted EPS
The company reported $5.1 billion of free cash flow in the quarter and lifted its backlog to $176 billion as adjusted EPS fell below Wall Street estimates.
GE Vernova reported second-quarter 2026 results showing 22% year-over-year revenue growth to $11.1 billion, ahead of Wall Street's $10.79 billion consensus estimate, and orders that surged 88% organically to $24.2 billion, according to MarketBeat Ratings.
The backlog climbed to $176 billion, up $13 billion in just three months, as management targeted $200 billion in 2027. The company said gas turbine capacity booked for slot reservations rose from 100 gigawatts to 116 gigawatts in the quarter, with expectations to reach at least 125 gigawatts by year-end.
Despite the strong top line and expanding margins, adjusted earnings per share came in below the roughly $3.17 analysts modeled. Net income rose to $649 million, or $2.47 per diluted share, up from $492 million, or $1.86 per share, a year earlier.
GE Vernova also reported adjusted EBITDA up 62% year over year to $1.25 billion, with margin expanding 340 basis points organically to 11.2%. The company attributed some of the profit pressure to weakness in wind segment losses and tariff costs, while free cash flow totaled $5.1 billion in the quarter.
