E.ON lifts first-half earnings and keeps 2026 guidance steady
Adjusted EBITDA rose 1.0% year over year to €5.4 billion in the first six months of 2026, while the company plans about €8.7 billion in full-year investment after weather delays slowed early spending.
E.ON reported slightly higher first-half 2026 earnings and maintained its full-year outlook, citing continued investment in European electricity networks that offset weaker performance in its retail business, according to Yahoo Finance.
Adjusted EBITDA increased 1.0% year over year to €5.4 billion for the first six months, up from €5.3 billion, while adjusted net income rose 5.0% to €1.9 billion from €1.8 billion. The company kept its 2026 guidance unchanged, forecasting adjusted EBITDA of €9.4 billion to €9.6 billion and adjusted net income of €2.7 billion to €2.9 billion.
E.ON said it invested €3.0 billion in the first half, down from €3.2 billion a year earlier, after weather-related delays slowed spending early in the year. The utility expects to catch up during the remainder of 2026 and reiterated its full-year investment target of about €8.7 billion.
By division, its Energy Networks segment generated adjusted EBITDA of more than €3.8 billion, and E.ON invested about €2.3 billion in that segment, including new connections and distribution-grid expansion and digitalization. In Germany, the company added more than 130,000 grid connections and connected over 5 gigawatts of additional renewable generation capacity during the first half.
