Hindustan Aeronautics links growth to Tejas MK1A and HTT-40 deliveries
HAL said Q1FY27 revenue rose 14% year-on-year to ₹5,515 crore, supported by a pickup in execution and offsetting higher raw material costs as EBITDA climbed 19% to ₹1,530 crore.
Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd is leaning on the scheduled deliveries of its indigenously developed aircraft, including the Tejas MK1A and the HTT-40, to sustain its Q1 momentum. LiveMint Markets reports that in Q1FY27, standalone revenue grew 14% year-on-year to ₹5,515 crore, ahead of analyst expectations.
The company pointed to improving execution as a key driver behind the revenue growth, while also reaffirming its FY27 revenue guidance of 10% to 12% shared during its March-quarter earnings call. LiveMint Markets also noted that the Q1 performance came alongside higher raw material costs, but earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization still rose 19% year-on-year to ₹1,530 crore as other costs declined.
HAL said much of its medium-term prospects depend on Tejas deliveries, with the first expected in the latter half of the fiscal. LiveMint Markets added that Tejas had suffered a crash at the Dubai air show in November and is undergoing testing for certain refinements, while HAL also has orders to deliver 180 Tejas aircraft worth about ₹1.1 trillion.
In the meantime, HAL is working through engine supply issues tied to GE Aerospace, with 15 to 20 deliveries expected in FY27 after receiving six engines in FY26. LiveMint Markets said HAL has built more than 20 airframes for the LCA Tejas Mk1A and plans to raise annual production capacity from 24 units to 30, alongside projections from Nomura Global Markets Research for Tejas deliveries of 6, 16, and 20 aircraft across FY27 to FY29.
