Canada manufacturing sales rise in June, topping expectations
Excluding petroleum and coal, manufacturing sales climbed 2.6% month over month, while inventories increased 0.6% to $126.8 billion.
Canada manufacturing sales in June rose 0.1% month over month, outperforming expectations for a 0.1% decline, according to Forexlive.
Sales totaled $78.8 billion, marking the fifth consecutive monthly increase, and were up 14.5% year over year.
The report said excluding petroleum and coal, manufacturing sales increased 2.6% month over month, with constant-dollar sales up 1.2% indicating underlying volume gains.
Forexlive also noted manufacturing inventories rose 0.6% to $126.8 billion in June, and that unfilled orders reached a record high alongside strong second-quarter data.
