Google enables Gemini AI features for K-12 students in Classroom
Previously, Gemini in Google Classroom was automatically enabled only for students aged 18 and older, limiting access for younger students.
The New York Times Business reports that Google has turned on Gemini A.I. features for K-12 schools using its Classroom app, allowing students to access the assistant through Classroom.
According to the outlet, the change expands eligibility beyond Google Classroom students 18 and older, which had been the automatic default until this week.
The update means younger students in participating K-12 schools can use Gemini features in the classroom platform, widening access compared with the prior setup.
