H&R Block shares jump after fiscal 2026 results top estimates
The tax-prep company raised its quarterly dividend 10% to $0.46 per share and set an Oct. 6 payment date.
H&R Block shares rose about 16% on Aug. 12 after the company reported fiscal 2026 fourth-quarter results that beat Wall Street expectations, including adjusted EPS of $2.38 versus the $2.21 consensus estimate.
Revenue increased to $1.14 billion from $1.11 billion a year earlier, and H&R Block also issued fiscal 2027 guidance that exceeded analysts' expectations, according to Yahoo Finance.
The company boosted its quarterly dividend by 10% to $0.46 per share, extending its streak of annual dividend increases to nine years. The dividend is payable Oct. 6 to shareholders of record on Sept. 3, raising the annual payout to $1.84 per share.
For the quarter, H&R Block reported Q4 revenue up 3.1% to $1.145 billion, with full-year revenue rising 4.9% to $3.95 billion. Adjusted EBITDA increased 8.3% to $1.06 billion, and adjusted EPS grew 13.9%, Yahoo Finance reported.
