Bank Indonesia expected to keep rates at 5.75% for a second meeting
The decision would come as Destry Damayanti debuts as BI governor, after former Governor Perry Warjiyo resigned last month.
Brown Brothers Harriman strategist Elias Haddad expects Bank Indonesia to hold its policy rate at 5.75% for a second straight meeting on Wednesday.
In BBH’s view, the pause is supported by easing pressures on the Indonesian rupiah and inflation that remains within target, following 100 bps of tightening since May.
The meeting is also set to mark Destry Damayanti’s debut as governor, after Perry Warjiyo resigned last month for personal reasons, two years ahead of the end of his second five-year term.
