Home Depot Q2 profit and revenue top estimates on demand for smaller jobs
Revenue rose nearly 6% to $47.9 billion, and same-store sales climbed 1.7% as customers shifted to smaller projects.
Home Depot reported second-quarter results that beat Wall Street expectations, helped by demand that skewed toward smaller home improvement projects, according to Yahoo Finance. The retailer said revenue grew by nearly 6% to $47.9 billion versus the $47.3 billion analysts forecast, and adjusted earnings rose 0.2% to $4.79, above the $4.73 predicted. The company attributed the performance to broad based demand across its business as customers continued to engage in smaller projects. Home Depot also posted same-store sales growth of 1.7%, higher than about 1% expected, with US same-store sales up 1.3% versus roughly 0.9% anticipated. Outdoor categories including live goods, mulch, patio items, and grills were cited as driving momentum. The company reiterated its 2026 outlook. It still expects total sales to grow between 2.5% and 4.5% for the year and same-store sales growth to be flat to up 2%.
