Sanders proposes bill to bar Social Security benefit garnishment for student loans
The proposal would protect federal student loan borrowers from having Social Security checks withheld for unpaid loans, according to CNBC Markets.

The plan would change how collection efforts for federal student loans can be applied, by blocking Social Security checks from being used as a repayment source in these cases, the outlet said.
