Centene CFO Drew Asher to step down Dec. 31, replaced by Chris Neczypor

Asher has served as Centene CFO since 2021 and the company reported $1.1 billion in second-quarter profit after a $253 million loss a year earlier.

Centene Corporation said its chief financial officer, Drew Asher, will step down on Dec. 31 and retire at the end of 2027, as part of the Missouri-based insurer's leadership transition.

Centene will be led by incoming CFO Chris Neczypor, currently CFO of Lincoln Financial, who will work alongside Asher to support the change through his retirement.

Neczypor joined Lincoln Financial in 2018 and has held roles across areas including retirement services, life insurance, and group protection benefits, after earlier experience including equity research analyst work at Goldman Sachs.

Centene noted that Asher has overseen the company through periods of rising medical costs and leadership changes this year, and the insurer said it recorded $1.1 billion in profit in the second quarter after reporting a $253 million loss in the prior year period, according to Healthcare Dive.
