Moderna stock jumps on interim skin cancer trial success
The interim results said its treatment Intismeran met a primary goal to cut cancer recurrence and a secondary goal to stop spread.
Shares of Moderna rose nearly 100% in pre-market trading after interim results from a late-stage skin cancer trial suggested its mRNA vaccine combined with Merck's Keytruda worked.
According to Reuters, the treatment, Intismeran, met its primary target of reducing cancer recurrence and also met a secondary goal of keeping cancers from spreading to other parts of the body, while the study remains ongoing.
The trial outcome drove investor attention to the partnership between Moderna and Merck as the companies await further data from the continuing study.
