Owens Corning shares rally 37% in 2026, beating S&P 500

Through mid-August 2026, the stock is up 37.1% and the company reported about $199 million in free cash flow in the second quarter.

Owens Corning (OC) is outperforming the S&P 500 in 2026, with its shares up 37.1% through mid-August, versus the S&P 500 Index gain of 13.7% year to date, according to Yahoo Finance.

The outlet links the strength to the building-products company’s “dividend safety” appeal and recent execution even amid a mixed housing backdrop. Owens Corning makes roofing, insulation, and door products for residential and commercial construction, serving customers across North America and Europe.

For the second quarter, Owens Corning reported revenue from continuing operations of about $2.8 billion, essentially flat year over year, and generated $199 million in free cash flow. The company also said its quarterly results included adjusted EPS of $3.93, above the $3.09 analyst consensus and $0.79 in the latest quarterly dividend per share.

Valuation and profitability metrics cited by Yahoo Finance include a 15.7 times trailing price-to-earnings ratio versus a 22.7 times sector median and a 2.0% dividend yield, alongside a 17.5% operating margin in the quarter. The Aug. 5 report showed revenue of $2.76 billion, slightly above consensus, and adjusted EBITDA of $660 million, above estimates.
