China sets anti-dumping duty tax rates on POM imports from US

China’s Commerce Ministry set the rates to take effect August 21, with Daicel HPP Taiwan Co. Ltd. facing a 3.8% anti-dumping duty.

China’s Commerce Ministry has announced the corporate anti-dumping duty tax rates for enterprises tied to anti-dumping measures on polyoxymethylene, or POM, imported into China from the United States, the European Union, Taiwan, and Japan, according to a Reuters report carried by FXStreet.

The ministry said Daicel Corporation will be taxed at a 35.5% anti-dumping duty rate, while Daicel HPP Taiwan Co. Ltd. will face a 3.8% rate.

For POM exports to mainland China, Copolymerized polyoxymethylene shipped under Polyplastics Co., Ltd. is subject to a 35.5% anti-dumping duty rate, and shipments under Polyplastics Taiwan Co., Ltd. face a 32.6% rate.

The taxes are set to take effect August 21, the report noted, as tariffs remain a key tool of protectionism through customs duties on imported goods.
