Goldman projects U.S. ETFs to top $2T in inflows in 2026
Goldman’s data show first-half 2026 inflows already exceed $1 trillion, a 40% increase versus 2025, with actively managed ETFs leading.
ETFs are on track for another record year of inflows, with Goldman Sachs forecasting U.S.-listed assets moving toward a $2 trillion inflow milestone, according to data cited by ETF Trends.
Goldman Sachs Global Banking & Markets said the forecast implies a 40% jump versus 2025. It also noted that investors have already put more than $1 trillion into U.S.-listed ETFs in the first half of this year.
A key driver is the continued adoption of actively managed ETFs, which Goldman said account for more than 35% of net year-to-date ETF inflows while representing about 13% of total U.S. ETF assets under management.
Goldman also pointed to demand for portfolio customization, including a 46% rise over the last 12 months in assets tied to ready-made third-party model portfolios, which reached $950 billion. It further said the total number of U.S.-listed ETFs is on track to surpass 6,000 offerings, helped by product innovation, including levered funds, fixed income, and structured derivatives, alongside elevated trading interest in semiconductor and software ETFs tied to AI adoption.
