Palantir trades at 108 times forward earnings after strong Q2
In its latest quarter, Palantir reported 93% year over year revenue growth and a 62% adjusted operating margin, alongside a 63% adjusted free cash flow margin.
Artificial intelligence enthusiasm has pushed high-growth software names to extreme valuation multiples, with Palantir Technologies trading at about 108 times forward earnings as of the close of trading Monday, according to Yahoo Finance.
The comparison comes alongside Tesla at roughly 190 times forward earnings, as investors weigh whether the market has overshot for companies tied to the AI cycle.
Yahoo Finance points to Palantir’s recently reported second-quarter results as a key support for the bull case. The company posted 93% year over year revenue growth, an adjusted operating margin of 62%, and an adjusted free cash flow margin of 63%.
Commercial momentum also featured in the quarter, with commercial revenue up nearly 150% year over year and the value of remaining deals for businesses rising 124% year over year. The article notes Palantir has moved back into profit territory this year, but warns the steep valuation leaves less room for error if competition intensifies or results disappoint.
