Avalanche executive says crypto prices are down, but opportunities are rising
Avalanche CBO John Nahas linked the firm’s focus on enterprise payments, government adoption, identity, and ticketing to what he calls a market shift toward real world digital-rail use cases.
Avalanche Chief Business Officer John Nahas told The Block that token prices and the broader crypto market are currently down, but he believes the sector is entering a period with more practical opportunities.
Speaking at the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium 2026, Nahas described the market as being in an immature phase and said he has never seen the space as bullish from where he sits, emphasizing that Avalanche has avoided traditional six month crypto cycle narratives and speculation.
He said the market is now “catching up” to Avalanche’s emphasis on real world assets and applications, pointing to enterprise payments, government adoption, identity, and World Cup ticketing as examples of use cases using blockchain to transfer value.
Nahas also highlighted Avalanche’s approach to spinning up jurisdiction compliant, asset or business specific custom Layer 1 blockchains as a competitive edge, arguing that other chains require adapting the business to the technology, while Avalanche can conform the technology to the business need.
