NAIA and Exiger launch critical minerals readiness survey

The Ground Truth survey will track gaps between domestic or allied critical mineral supply and real industrial demand down to spec, grade, alloy, and purity levels.

The New American Industrial Alliance, a Washington-based group focused on supply chain risk technology for the U.S. government, has launched a critical minerals readiness survey partnership with Exiger.

The effort, branded Ground Truth, follows a White House executive order on securing defense supply chains and ensuring domestic acquisition of critical materials. HousingWire reports? No, according to Mining.com, NAIA said the survey will measure the actual state of critical mineral supply against real industrial demand across the NAIA member community and the broader U.S. industrial base.

NAIA and Exiger plan to use responses to pinpoint where demand is not being met by domestic or allied supply, including differences at the spec, grade, alloy, or purity level, and where reshoring and sourcing capabilities diverge. Exiger said the survey results will feed a joint Exiger x NAIA research report intended for policymakers, federal buyers, investors, and industrial partners.

The findings are scheduled to be unveiled on September 16, 2026, during NAIA’s The New Industrial Age Forum in Washington, DC. Mining.com also notes that the rebuild of a related facility is set to be completed by 2030, with more than 1,500 workers expected to be employed.
