Trump Media loss widens to $238.1 million as crypto hits earnings

DJT reported second-quarter revenue of $1.7 million, up 89% year over year, while its new Truth API data feed signed more than 10 customer deals that pay $60,000 to $100,000 monthly.

Trump Media & Technology Group Corp. reported a second-quarter net loss of $238.1 million, widening sharply from a loss of about $20 million a year earlier, with Yahoo Finance saying the expansion was driven mainly by more than $190 million in losses tied to its digital asset and equity holdings as crypto prices fell during the quarter.

The company also posted revenue of $1.7 million, up 89% year over year, while operating expenses rose to more than $165 million, roughly 275% higher year over year, according to the outlet, with the increase linked to volatility in its crypto holdings.

Trump Media has been trying to build out a non-crypto revenue stream through Truth API, a data feed launched August 1 that provides fast access to posts from key Truth Social accounts. Yahoo Finance said the company has already signed more than 10 customer deals since launch, mainly with high-frequency trading firms, and those customers pay $60,000 to $100,000 per month.

The outlet also noted that Trump Media is pursuing a pending merger with fusion energy developer TAE Technologies, describing it as a long-term value driver cited by interim CEO Kevin McGurn. Yahoo Finance added that the company has pulled back from two agreements with Crypto.com as it seeks to refocus on its media business, and that hedge fund ownership fell to 17 funds as of Q1 2026 from 21 in the prior quarter.
