Airbnb hits 4-year high as AI helps lift revenue forecast
Airbnb posted second-quarter revenue of $3.61 billion, up 17%, and raised 2026 revenue growth to at least mid-teens.
Airbnb shares surged to a more than four-year high after the company lifted its full-year revenue forecast, citing artificial intelligence for cost reductions and for speeding up delivery of new product features, Yahoo Finance reported. For the quarter, Airbnb reported second-quarter revenue of $3.61 billion, up 17% year over year, ahead of the $3.57 billion Wall Street expected. Earnings per share came in at $1.37 versus a $1.26 estimate, while gross booking value increased 16% to $27.2 billion.
Airbnb also topped its third-quarter revenue guidance, projecting $4.69 billion to $4.77 billion compared with the $4.61 billion expected. The company said it expects 2026 revenue growth of at least mid-teens, higher than its prior low- to mid-teens call.
In contrast, Booking Holdings beat second-quarter estimates but trimmed its full-year gross bookings outlook, pointing to ongoing Middle East-related disruption to international travel. Booking expects reduced Middle East travel and pricier airfares to persist through the third quarter, and it cut its full-year bookings growth range to high-single-digit growth from a prior high-single- to low-double-digit range.
