Gilead posts revenue growth but records a large quarterly loss in Q2 2026
Gilead said product sales excluding Veklury rose 10% to about $7.6 billion, and it raised the lower end of its 2026 product-sales guidance after stronger commercial momentum.
Gilead Sciences reported its strongest commercial momentum in several years in fiscal Q2 2026, with total revenue rising 10% year over year to about $7.8 billion. Product sales grew 8% to roughly $7.6 billion, and results reflected growth across its HIV, oncology, and liver disease franchises, according to Yahoo Finance.
The company’s income statement, however, showed a quarterly loss after it recorded more than $11 billion in acquired research and development expenses. Yahoo Finance noted that underlying product performance remained strong, with product sales excluding Veklury increasing 10% to about $7.6 billion.
HIV was a key driver, led by sales rising 12% to $5.7 billion. Biktarvy revenue climbed 7% to $3.8 billion, Descovy sales increased 48% to $967 million, and Yeztugo generated $232 million as its launch continued to gain traction, the outlet said.
Gilead also saw liver-disease sales increase 10% to $877 million, supported by demand for Livdelzi and treatments for chronic hepatitis B and hepatitis delta, with Livdelzi revenue at $167 million, more than double year over year. Oncology strengthened as Trodelvy sales rose alongside demand for breast-cancer treatment, with sales up 26% to $457 million, while Gilead raised the lower end of its 2026 product-sales guidance to 30.1–30.4 billion from 30.0–30.4 billion, according to Yahoo Finance.
