Anthropic and OpenAI could set aggressive revenue pitches ahead of IPOs
Anthropic has filed confidentially for a potential IPO as soon as October, and Yahoo Finance discussed the timing and investor patience around profit timelines for both companies.
Anthropic has confidentially filed for a potential IPO as soon as October, setting up what could be a high-profile launch for the Claude maker, according to a Yahoo Finance discussion citing a Wall Street Journal report about a potential revenue opportunity above $30 trillion.
The segment also highlighted OpenAI’s prospects, noting that it could follow Anthropic, alongside indications from the broader market conversation that large forward-looking revenue estimates are part of how these companies may frame growth opportunities for investors.
Yahoo Finance pointed to the strength of the US IPO window this year, saying traditional IPOs raised about $114.1 billion in the second quarter, more than seven times the $14.8 billion raised in the same quarter of 2025, with SpaceX cited as a contributor to the totals.
Connor Group managing partner Jim Neesen said investors may remain patient on profit timing, adding that Anthropic could be closer to profitability while both businesses continue to see substantial capital investment, and that “forgiveness” on timelines could be available.
