Stifel hires hedge fund and liquid alternatives gatekeeper

The role involves conducting due diligence on hedge funds and liquid alternatives and covering tax efficient strategies such as exchange funds and opportunity zone funds.

Stifel, the St Louis-based wealth management firm, is recruiting an assistant vice president to serve as a gatekeeper for hedge funds and liquid alternative strategies, according to a report by CityWire.

The position will focus on conducting due diligence on hedge funds, liquid alternatives, and related tax strategies, with responsibilities spanning tax efficient alternatives including exchange funds, opportunity zone funds, 721 exchange strategies, tax aware long short separately managed accounts, and tax focused hedge funds.

Candidates are expected to have at least three years of relevant experience, with a CFA qualification required and CAIA and/or CFP credentials preferred, the report said. The job is office based, and no salary range was disclosed.

The new hire would join Stifel’s existing investment gatekeeping and research operation, which includes chief investment officer Michael O’Keefe and research director Matt Kelley, according to the report.
