Keysight tops $2B in orders again as AI, defense demand lifts outlook
The testing and validation supplier reported fiscal Q3 revenue of $1.85 billion, up 36% year over year, and free cash flow rose to $403 million from $291 million a year earlier.
Keysight Technologies beat the high end of its own guidance in its fiscal third quarter, with revenue climbing 36% year over year to $1.85 billion and non-GAAP earnings per share rising 79% to $3.07, according to Yahoo Finance.
Orders topped $2 billion for a second straight quarter, reaching $2.091 billion, up 56% on a reported basis. Management linked demand to AI infrastructure buildout, defense modernization, and next-generation communications standards, and raised its outlook for both the fourth quarter and the full fiscal year.
The company said wireline orders more than doubled year over year as customers expanded AI data center infrastructure, and that Commercial Communications crossed $1 billion in quarterly revenue for the first time, up 56%. Within Electronic Industrial Solutions Group, revenue reached a record $501 million, up 21%, alongside double-digit order growth across general electronics, semiconductors, and automotive and energy.
Profitability also improved as operating margin rose to 33.2%, up 820 basis points, and free cash flow increased to $403 million from $291 million a year earlier. Yahoo Finance also noted Keysight added nearly 3,000 new customers this fiscal year and said 3GPP confirmed in June that the first 6G standard is targeted for March 2029.
