Nvidia shares hover near $217 after earnings, analysts see a range
The stock was about flat over the prior four months, while Nvidia reported Q2 free cash flow of $21.3 billion and a 22.2% FCF margin, down from Q1.
Nvidia shares traded around $217.55 after the company’s fiscal Q2 results, a move that left the stock only slightly above where it was before the Aug. 26 report.
Yahoo Finance said the post-results pattern suggests Nvidia may be stuck in a trading range, noting the stock has been essentially flat for roughly four months since late April.
The outlet pointed to a cash flow slowdown despite strong top-line performance. Nvidia reported Q2 revenue of $96.2 billion versus a forecast of $92.07 billion, but free cash flow fell to $21.34 billion from $48.554 billion in Q1.
It also highlighted that Nvidia’s Q2 free cash flow margin declined to 22.2%, compared with 59.5% in Q1, and argued that, with the stock range bound, investors have been considering a strategy built around shorting out-of-the-money puts.
