OpenAI’s ad business is scaling quickly, reaching a $1 billion annualized revenue run rate, according to CNBC Markets.

The outlet said OpenAI’s decision to begin serving ads in ChatGPT earlier this year drew public ridicule from its chief rival, Anthropic, including via a Super Bowl commercial.
