Abercrombie shares surge after 2Q earnings beat

The retailer reported second-quarter EPS of $4.17 versus $1.99 expected, while net sales rose 5.0% to $1.27 billion.

Abercrombie & Fitch shares jumped about 32% week-on-week after the apparel retailer reported a major second-quarter earnings beat, according to Yahoo Finance.

In fiscal 2026 second quarter results, earnings per share came in at $4.17, well above Wall Street expectations of $1.99. Attributable net income increased 13% to $250.8 million from $221.8 million a year earlier, and net sales rose 5% to $1.27 billion from $1.208 billion.

The company also said net sales marked its 15th consecutive quarter of growth, led by the Americas at $1.02 billion, up 5% from $974.2 million. EMEA net sales increased to $201.99 million, up 2.4% from $197.21 million, while Asia Pacific sales rose to $44.16 million, up 19% from $37.15 million.

Yahoo Finance added that UBS raised its price target to $185 from $153 while maintaining a buy recommendation, citing Abercrombie's specialty retail position and strategies including product innovation and disciplined inventory management. Citigroup, however, downgraded the stock to neutral from buy, pointing to an improving setup with accelerating Hollister sales but saying the risk/reward profile was less attractive than before.
