Baron Global Opportunity Fund climbs 26.7% in Q2 2026
The Baron Global Opportunity Fund’s second quarter gain outpaced the MSCI ACWI and ACWI Growth benchmarks, while the fund said stock selection and sector allocation drove 1,173 bps of outperformance.
Baron Global Opportunity Fund, managed by Baron Capital, reported a strong second quarter in its 2026 investor letter, with institutional shares rising 26.7%. Yahoo Finance said that compared with the MSCI ACWI Index’s 14.9% gain and the MSCI ACWI Growth Index’s 19.8% increase over the same period.
Year to date, the fund was up 20.6%, ahead of the MSCI ACWI Index at 11.3% and the MSCI ACWI Growth Index at 10.6%, according to the same materials cited by Yahoo Finance. The fund also said overall outperformance totaled 1,173 bps relative to the Index, attributing the result to stock selection and sector allocation.
The investor letter pointed to market conditions resembling the prior year, with three years of more than 25% gains linked to a healthy economy and AI investment, while noting elevated geopolitical risks. It described tariff-related dips followed by recoveries, and said an initial sell-off tied to airstrikes and later easing in hostilities gave way to a rally.
Yahoo Finance added that the fund highlighted CrowdStrike Holdings as one of its top holdings, noting CrowdStrike contributed 2.23% to quarterly performance. The article said CrowdStrike closed on September 1, 2026 at $215.07 per share, was down 2.01% over the prior month, up 99.08% over the past year, and had a market capitalization of $220.22 billion.
