BBVA Argentina flags declining inflation and RIGI project approvals
The bank said RIGI announcements and approvals exceeded $15 billion in the second quarter and highlighted debt maturity extensions into 2028 to 2029.
BBVA Argentina held its second quarter 2026 results conference call, with the company attributing its outlook to a macro backdrop of continued inflation decline and expectations that the trend will further support credit and consumption, along with improving real incomes, according to the earnings call transcript published by Yahoo Finance.
The bank also said economic activity is showing signs of overall growth, despite differences across sectors, and it referenced progress on RIGI as a driver for capital inflows and a stronger trade balance.
BBVA Argentina added that it advanced efforts to improve its debt maturity profile during the quarter, extending a significant portion of local currency maturities out to 2028 and 2029, while also lengthening foreign currency maturities for repo agreements with banks and a swap agreement with China.
The company further noted it secured financing backed by IFI guarantees and discussed related developments alongside reserve purchases, as part of its liquidity and funding update during the call.
