Redhedge appoints Pierre Morel as lead portfolio manager
Morel will report directly to Redhedge CEO Andrea Seminara and help build the business and recruit for front-office investment roles.
London hedge fund Redhedge Asset Management has appointed Pierre Morel, a former JPMorgan Chase global investment-grade and macro credit trading co-head, as a lead portfolio manager, according to a Bloomberg report.
Morel reports directly to chief executive Andrea Seminara. His remit includes helping develop the business and supporting recruitment across front-office investment roles, the report said.
The appointment follows Morel's work at JPMorgan focused on global credit markets, including market-making in single-name credit default swaps for financial institutions and trading subordinated bank debt issued for regulatory capital purposes, according to his background described by Bloomberg.
Bloomberg also noted that Morel left JPMorgan about a year ago and that his move to Redhedge marks a return to the hedge fund industry after a sell-side career.
