JOYY posts 16.3% revenue growth as non-livestreaming targets rise

The company expects non-livestreaming businesses to near half of group revenue by 2028, alongside a raised full-year non-GAAP operating income growth target.

JOYY Inc. reported second-quarter results showing broader momentum beyond its livestreaming core, with net revenue rising 16.3% year over year to $590.8 million and non-GAAP operating income up 28.2% to $49.1 million, according to Yahoo Finance. Management said growth is now coming across social entertainment, advertising, and e-commerce, and it expects non-livestreaming businesses to approach half of group revenue by 2028. BIGO Ads revenue totaled $133.7 million, up 53.1% year over year, while the company’s BIGO Audience Network and web-based advertising demand also accelerated. The audience network segment grew 74.1% year over year, and web advertising driven by lead generation and e-commerce clients rose 91.7%. JOYY also reported that in-app advertising spending increased 70.6%, with the developer network processing ad requests up 37.7%. JOYY said its livestreaming business is recovering alongside the expansion, with livestreaming revenue up 7.3% year over year, paying users growing 3.9%, and average revenue per paying user returning positive, up 2.4%. The company also reported $34.4 million of Shopline e-commerce revenue, a 28.6% year-over-year increase, while AI channels drove sharply higher engagement and orders, and it ended the period with $3.06 billion in net cash as of June 30, 2026. Through August 21, JOYY returned $359 million to shareholders in buybacks and dividends, and it raised its full-year non-GAAP operating income growth target to roughly 20%.
