Microsoft shares jump 4% after biggest Copilot overhaul
The new Copilot app, built around Home, Code and Autopilot, begins rolling out today through Microsofts Frontier programme.
Microsoft shares rose 4% to $517.48 on Nasdaq after the software company unveiled its biggest Copilot overhaul, designed to turn the AI assistant into a one stop shop for office workers, according to LiveMint Markets.
The update centers on three new capabilities, Home, Code and Autopilot, and Microsoft said Home brings Chat and Cowork together while embedding Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella described the revamped Copilot as a new OS for work, intended to bring together different AI models, devices and workplace tasks as the company looks to expand Copilot beyond its chat roots.
Microsoft said engineering work on the overhaul took about six months, the efforts were leaked earlier, and the redesigned Copilot app begins rolling out today through its Frontier programme, the outlet reported.
