Fed President Beth Hammack says policy remains not restrictive

Cleveland Federal Reserve President Beth Hammack said the two sides of the Fed’s dual mandate are not in conflict, despite ongoing high inflation, according to FXStreet.

Hammack said high inflation complicates economic planning and that she does not see current Fed policy as restraining the economy.

The report also notes the Fed’s mandate to achieve price stability and foster full employment, and that its main tool is adjusting interest rates when inflation runs above the Fed’s 2% target.
