Goolsbee warns persistent inflation risks and says deficits can overheat

Chicago Fed President Austan Goolsbee, an FOMC voter in 2027, said persistent inflation is a serious concern, describing it as “playing with fire,” according to FXStreet.

Goolsbee noted that the US has been 5.5 years above its inflation target, and he added that “massive deficits” can overheat the economy.

FXStreet also included a table and heat map showing the day’s percentage changes of the US dollar against listed major currencies. The outlet said the US dollar was strongest versus the Australian dollar in its snapshot of FX moves.
